Birth Support

Birth is one of the most transformative experiences a woman can walk through, and you deserve to feel informed, empowered, respected, and deeply supported throughout every step of your journey. My role as your doula is to provide compassionate, continuous support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period so you never feel alone during this sacred transition into motherhood.

From the moment we begin working together, I strive to create a safe and nurturing space where you feel comfortable asking questions, expressing fears, exploring your options, and preparing for the birth experience you envision. Every family is unique, and I believe your support should reflect your individual desires, values, and needs.

Throughout pregnancy, I provide emotional support, education, and guidance to help you feel confident and prepared as your birth approaches. We will discuss comfort measures, birth preferences, labor positions, coping techniques, partner support, postpartum preparation, and evidence-based information so you can make informed decisions with confidence and clarity.

When labor begins, I offer continuous physical, emotional, and informational support for both you and your partner. Whether your birth takes place at home, a birth center, or in the hospital, I remain by your side to provide reassurance, encouragement, advocacy, and calming support throughout labor and delivery. My goal is to help you feel grounded, safe, and empowered as you work through each stage of labor.

Support during labor may include:

  • Comfort techniques and hands-on support
  • Grounding and relaxation guidance
  • Position changes and movement suggestions
  • Counter pressure and massage
  • Creating a calm and peaceful birth environment
  • Emotional reassurance and encouragement
  • Support for your partner so they feel confident and involved

• Evidence-based information to help navigate decisions during labor

After your baby arrives, my support continues into the immediate postpartum period as you begin bonding with your little one and settling into those first precious hours together. I provide gentle guidance, encouragement, and support as you transition into this new chapter.

It is truly an honor to walk alongside families during such an intimate and life-changing season. My hope is that you leave your birth experience feeling empowered, supported, and deeply proud of yourself.

Sibling Doula

Birth Happens. As amazing as it is to bring a new sibling into the world, the process may bring about many questions. Many parents ask, should I bring my children to the birth? If I do, who will watch them if things are too intense? Are they allowed to be at the hospital? What will they do? For parents  that decide not to bring siblings to the birth, who will be able to drop what they are doing in order to watch them?  In our area many families having a new baby are without  trusted family members living locally or a trusted person who is willing to be “on call”. That's where I come in! As a sibling doula I'm fully present to provide compassionate and emotional support for your little(s) so you can focus on bringing your new baby earthside. Whether planning for a home, birth center, or hospital birth, I'm there no matter what time it is!

Custom Birth Plan

At I Love What I Doula, LLC, we believe that every birth experience is unique and deeply personal. That’s why we are committed to helping you create a custom birth plan that reflects your values, preferences, and vision for your special day. Here’s how we can assist you in crafting a birth plan that empowers you and ensures your wishes are honored:

Personalized Consultation

We begin with a one-on-one consultation to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and goals for your birth experience. This is a safe space for you to express your desires and any concerns you may have. Together, we’ll explore different aspects of labor and delivery, helping you understand your options.

 Comprehensive Birth Plan Components

We’ll guide you through the essential components of a birth plan, including:

- Labor Preferences: Discussing your ideal environment, preferred positions for labor, comfort measures, and any specific requests for managing pain.

- Delivery Preferences: Outlining your wishes for the actual delivery, including who you want present, preferences for skin-to-skin contact, and any cultural or personal practices you wish to incorporate.

- Postpartum Wishes: Addressing immediate postpartum care for both you and your baby, such as breastfeeding initiation, newborn procedures, and rooming-in options.

Educational Resources

We provide educational materials and resources to help you make informed choices about your birth plan. This includes information on pain relief options, interventions, and various birth settings, such as home, hospital, or birth center.

Collaboration with Your Healthcare Team

Once we’ve crafted your personalized birth plan, we can help you communicate your preferences to your healthcare providers. We’ll discuss how to approach your care team, ensuring they understand your wishes while remaining open to the flexibility that labor may require.

 Flexibility and Adaptability

Birth is often unpredictable, and we understand that plans may need to change. Our approach emphasizes flexibility, preparing you for various scenarios while ensuring your core values and desires remain a priority. We’ll discuss how to adapt your plan in the moment while still advocating for your wishes.
